Inspiring Religious Quotes for a Christian Wedding

The best way to integrate your religion into your Christian wedding ceremony—aside from having it in a Christian church—is by sprinkling Christian quotes throughout your ceremony. Find verses that you and your fiancé can relate to and place them either in your printed wedding program, your vows, or have them read by your priest or a friend at some point in your ceremony.

What type of verse are you looking for? If you want a Christian verse that’s more modern, then explore the New International Version. Out of all Bible translations, the aforementioned version is the most modern. If you want quotes that lean more on the poetic side, then check out the New King James Bible translation. You could also mix it up and pick a few verses from each translation if you can’t quite decide.

The following religious wedding quotations are the most commonly used at Christian weddings:

  • "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves." — 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
  • "Love bears all things, believes all thing, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." — I Corinthians 13:7-8
  • "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." — I Corinthians 13:13

Another option when deciding how to integrate your faith into your wedding is by playing religious wedding music before, during, and/or after the ceremony. Whether you decide to use religious wedding quotes or music, make sure it reflects your beliefs and personality.

Also there is Song of Songs chapter 8:6-7. This is my personal favorite. She talks about how she wants him to wear an outward sign so other women will know that he's taken -like a modern wedding band. And worn in his heart intimately faithful. Verse seven expresses the depth of love. Genesis 2: 7, 18-24. Explaining the point of God's creation of people. Men need women :P Ephesians 5:21-33 which gives guidlines to how a godly couple should behave towards one another.
